Taylor Community Library's Partnership With Unique Management Systems

The Taylor Community Library has contracted with a materials recovery agency, Unique Management Systems, to encourage library users with long overdue materials to return them to the Library. This action by the library is being undertaken with fairness to all library patrons in mind.

Materials not returned are not available for others to use or borrow. Also, if materials are not returned, in most cases, money from the library budget is used to replace them. An accumulation of $25 in lost items, fines and processing fees will result in the account being placed with the materials recovery agency.

To prevent placement with Unique Management Systems, return materials by the date due. Most library materials not under request are available for renewal 2 times. Books renewed to the maximum may be kept up to 9 weeks. Some audio visual items have shorter loan periods to serve user demand. Items may be renewed by calling the library during open hours at 734-287-4840, using the My Account feature of the library catalog, or using the toll-free renewal number anytime: 888-672-8983.
